Coaching and Instruction
A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music with a Masters of Music in jazz vocal performance, Neha is a perceptive, skilled and versatile music instructor. She offers instruction in piano, vocal technique, songwriting and ukulele classes for beginners to advanced level students, all ages. She also offers rigorous and hands-on training for high school, college and professional auditions with a concentration in performance preparation, choosing appropriate repertoire, relaxation techniques, ear training, and more.
Neha’s instrument education philosophy focuses on a holistic approach to learning music - ear training, music theory, technique exercises, as well as learning a wide range of pieces rooted in different musical styles. Her approach to vocal training relies in a strong focus on developing the breath, and strengthening head and chest register to promote vocal versatility and a healthy singing practice. Lessons are artfully tailored to each students’ needs and specific unique methods of learning.
Neha has also taught at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in Park Slope, The Metropolitan Opera Guild, and the Grammy award-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus. She has conducted jazz and voice residencies in Jacmel, Haiti and also leads workshops and master classes at colleges and high schools.
